Before I buy my Sheet Music / Audio Downloads / Streaming Video what software/hardware is required?
Our DRM (Digital Rights Management) require the following:
- PC(Windows 98, 2000, XP), No Mac's
- Internet Explorer
- Internet connection (High-speed strongly recommended due to the size of content)

Before I get my Audio/ Video license, what steps can I take to ensure a successful download?
Enable Cookies for Mel Bay
- Click on "Tools" on the Menu bar, then click on "Internet Options..."

Click on the "Privacy" tab
- Click on sites

Type in melbay.com
- Click Allow, then Click Ok.
During acquisition of license(s)
After clicking the "get license" button from the Downloads Manager, please make sure ALL boxes say 'license successfully stored' before clicking the checkbox to activate the "download manager" button. You may need to install an active-X control requested by the browser (indicated by a yellow bar at the top of the browser window).
After you have submitted your order
If after you have acquired the license through the downloads manager you are still getting the message that you need to buy the license from Mel Bay. Please see the section on enabling cookies and then contact us at techsupport@melbay.com to reset your license(s).
Video Troubleshooting
Why does it take so long to see my video?
We strongly suggest that you have a high-speed internet connection before attempting to view/purchase a streaming video. The file size of the videos range from 10MB - 135MB per section.
I've downloaded my video, but when I try to view it, it says...
I need to connect to the server. Or
I need to acquire the licence.
The streaming videos are only viewable from the "downloads manager" and will not work if you download them to your computer. You will need to access them from the "downloads manager" while you are online.
Sheet Music Troubleshooting
I try to view my sheet music but I get an 'Object Badly Formatted' error. or...
I try to print my PDF and only get parts of the page to print.
The encrypted PDF has corrupted, please contact us at techsupport@melbay.com.
